Inspiration

Since the lockdown happened in 2020, everything I have ever experienced before suddenly felt like a dream. Most of the things that were going on in my life were forced to have a pause, and I honestly felt unmotivated to pursue a greater goal during that time. I spent a lot of time to meditate and to self-reflect. Soon I realized, my so called self-reflection was just another form of escape; Asking what's meaningful might just be the most meaningless thing. There were a part of the reality which I didn’t want to face. So the concept of escapism aroused in my head. The modern escapism, from my point of view, has a lot to mix with the idea with self-care, self-talk and boundary. Turn on your social media, there are millions people teaching you how to #selfcare. This phenomenon happens particularly often for generation Z: When we are lonely and unproductive, we like to imagine things and take breaks. Our imagination sometimes take us to different places to see different things, and it give us a perfect excuse to not live in the presence. This project is rather a diary to record my mental state during the lockdown.
